I was recently selected alongside Minister David Stanton to contest the next general election for Fine Gael in Cork East. I narrowly lost out on a Dáil seat in 2011 and served on Cork County Council until 2014, and I am looking forward to the campaign ahead.
There are many challenges to be faced in the coming months including Brexit, housing, CAP reform, the need for investment in water infrastructure, and climate change.
Fine Gael can be proud of its achievements in Government, but there are numerous challenges facing the country, and I will look to be an advocate for the people of Cork East on these issues.
My campaign is already underway and I look forward to meeting people across north Cork to discuss the issues affecting this constituency.
